We all know that online scams are becoming more and more common, so it’s important to stay safe when making payments online. Here are some tips on how to prevent getting scammed by payment links:

  1. Check the source of the link – Before you click any payment link, make sure you check where it’s coming from. If a company or individual is asking for money via a link, be sure to do your research and verify their legitimacy before clicking through. Also look out for suspicious URLs or misspelt words in the address bar as these could also be signs of fraudsters trying to steal your information and/or money!
  2. Read reviews – If someone is offering goods or services online that require payment via a link, take some time to read customer reviews about them first before committing any funds towards them . This will help give an indication if they have had previous customers who were satisfied with what they received after paying through this particular method – if not then find another seller instead !
  3. Make sure there’s an SSL certificate- When entering personal details such as credit card numbers into website forms always ensure that there is an SSL (Secure Socket Layer) certificate present on the page which can usually be identified by looking at either green padlock icon next its URL address bar, this means that all data transferred between two computers over the internet has been encrypted meaning no one else can intercept it while being sent across networks.
  4. Don’t trust generic emails- Be very cautious when receiving emails from unknown sources claiming they need urgent payments made immediately otherwise something bad may happen– these types of messages should always raise suspicions even if they appear genuine so don’t ever feel pressured into taking action straight away without doing further checks first!
  5. Double-check account details- Always double-check account numbers provided in the order, and confirm accuracy before sending off funds – mistakes here can result in lost monies which may never see again so make sure everything matches up correctly! By following these simple steps you’ll hopefully reduce the risk falling victim to scammer’s tactics when using links for making payments online
  6. When dealing with a new vendor/service provider it is best to make any payment only after the service/product is delivered and when possible to do it offline
